making a grill
I gotta say, the air dam thing is quite a problem. When I'm stationary or under 30, she stays at about 200. If I get on the highway, the temp slowly rises to about 240. Makes long distance trips impossible.. my original air dam was damaged, so I cut a piece of metal the same length and width, and it got mangled pretty quickly.
My t/a is an of road vehicle, so keeping that thing intact will never work.
I thought about creating a grill for it, or at least cut an air channel. Problem is the front bumper is kinda right there in the way.. and I'd rather not have a hole in my bumper. The piece in the middle of the nose piece, closest to the hood, would work if it was removed, but that's one of those parts that would look idiotic if removed. Back to square one..
Any ideas? Not too worried about cutting holes in her anything.

I repaired my air dam, now all is good. I'm still wondering if it would be feasible to cut a hole in the front end to make a grill so that the dam can be done away with

Can you make a duct to grab air from the front and route it towards the radiator? Maybe use the fog light buckets?
I just don't think that'll be enough.

That actually doesn't sound like a bad idea. My fogs were missing when I bought her, so the holes are already there.
As you said, I dunno if that would be enough. I looked under the front, it looks like even if I cut a Hole in the front end, the bumper is right there blocking it. Sure, I could cut a hole there, and with the fog channels that would be enough, but cutting holes in the actual bumper doesn't sound like a great idea. Especially with how my ta is set up, it gotta be tempting for other drivers to ram into it haha

Buy a Camaro? I've only seen it once, what you are describing and the guy put a mesh screen there because he was running an intercooler in the front. Still had his airdam though.

You can hinge the air dam, with a spring which will allow it to move out of the way.

I'm not a camaro guy, and I already built a trans am lol.
A hinged dam actually..sounds like it (should) work pretty well. That's pretty creative. Perhaps make one out of metal so its more rigid, I dunno how well the plastic would hold up to springs.

Metal would work.
Remember there’s plastic and PLASTIC.
