what is this?

i was trying to figure out some of the wiring to my fan in my 88 and found this, i unplugged it while it was running thinking it was for the fan and the car died, and after plugging it back in it will start and immediately die, i think this might be to the fuel pump but i dont know, anybody know?

thats right up next to the fan coming from the wiring by the battery

Its not a fuse, its a single wire connector. Typically used for EST bypass. You would disconnect it to set base timing.

In your case I do not think that connector is for the EST, but I would bet its some sort of power wire for something.

I'm pretty sure it goes to the ecm.I've reset mine with it.

Had a brain fart calling it a fuse.

Setting the timing connector is back at the firewall.

Can't say for sure what all it disconnects.But i'm 98% sure(memory sucks these days) it goes to the ecm.But my wire is orange and it's an 88.

It goes to the battery correct?

I have a couple of harnesses laying in the building.I'll see if I can get to them and trace that wire for ya if noone gives you a positive.

thanks, it makes sense that it goes to the ecm, and yeah it goes to the battery
