locating the fan wiring and fixing the previous mistakes

Years ago when i was first getting into thirdgens this was the source for so many answers so here i am, new account, similar problems.

so the basic problem is my radiator fans have stopped working, after looking around for some solutions and comparing it to the car ive realized that at some point the fan was re wired hard wired off the battery, it seems like a fuse was put in the plug and then they were spliced together, not sure how to get the setup working again or how to get the wiring the way it used to be, any ideas or what else i need to look for would be appreciated, wiring is really not my forte by any means

the first picture is the fuse that i believe is in the actual plug for the fan, but i cant tell, the second is where the wires are all spliced back into themselves, the loose wire would turn the fan on if i touched it to the positive terminal of the battery, but i have no idea where it was wired before to make it work, and the last i believe is the fuel pump power, but again i have no idea and i dont want to mess with it if its not a part of the fan wiring
thanks guys

The fan relays should be on the radiator support, on the passenger side. Follow the wires from the fans, and you should find them!

Mounted in different areas depending on who knows what standard GM had at the time. Can be by the booster, mounted to the evaporator housing or on the core support. You will be looking for orange, black w/red tracer, tan w/white tracer and green w/white tracer or black wires leading to the relay.

If you want a stand alone fan harness, I can help you out-otherwise, you may need to research your particular year and trace everything out to verify the PO's didn't hack-attack it all.

yeah i found that the PO must have pulled and redone everthing because i could not find anything that looked like what ive got, fortunately i found a wire to get it working temporarily until i can figure out how to get it back to its original setup

My fan wiring was hacked pretty hard. I went with a Racetronix "universal" harness, with dual fuses, dual relays, soldered into the plug-pigtails at the fans and triggered by the factory ground triggers.
