Diverter Vacuum Line
Hi Guys,
I removed the coolant diverter from my Firebird. Can anyone tell me (or have a diagram) for where the small vacuum line that was connected to the diverter goes? I would like to unhook it so I don't have a vacuum leak
I searched through many threads talking about it but no one mentions where it goes or how it gets its vacuum.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Re: Diverter Vacuum Line
It goes to the hvac control head and specifically, a small valve on the cold-hot selector. The valve shares vacuum with the vent selector and only applies vacuum to the diverter at the full cold position.

Thanks deadbird! If I unplug this line from the HVAC (so I can remove it from the engine bay), will the vents and heater still work properly. FYI - I remove the AC.

As long as you plug the location where you remove it from, it will still work. You may have slightly hotter air at the full cold position if you have removed the diverter, as long as you kept the heater core hooked up.
