AC Hosing Assembly Question
AC Hosing Assembly Question
I have a old AC hose unit and need to get it replaced as the California weather gets extremely hot. I looked around for a V8 compatible AC hose but the only ones I can find are specified to fit the V6 engine, are the hoses different and if they are, could anyone recommend a place to find the AC hoses? Thanks in advance.

Re: AC Hosing Assembly Question
Yes the hoses are different. HO is the worst situation because the line at the evaporator is different from other V8s.
You can take your existing lines; wizz-wheel the crimp fittings off, being VERY CAREFUL not to scratch the metal line; and get sections of "barrier hose" (polyethylene tubing lining, rubber outer) in the right sizes. Put the hose on the metal parts and use 2 actual AC hose clamps at each hose end, not the little weenie things hanging on cards at AZ in the "radiator" aisle.
