Cooling system woes.

A little back story... Engine is a 355 SBC, carbed. This past winter I changed the camshaft and lifters for a slightly more aggressive profile, also changed the piston rings, main and rod bearings. Otherwise the rest of the engine stayed the same.

Last season it ran in the 160-170 range on the highway and 180-190 in the city, even on the hottest days. Original radiator, 160 t stat, high flow proform water pump and factory single fan on a 180 on 170 off temp switch.

This summer (after the camshaft, rings and bearings), it runs at 190-200 on the highway and through town hits the 210-220 range and the fan is on constantly. It received a brand new rad (stock replacement) as well as a 180 t stat to hopefully keep the coolant in the rad longer.

It now runs 195-205 all the time after the 180 stat went in, which is still a little high for my liking. And the fan is still constantly running.

I'm unsure as to what is causing the abnormally high temps this year, and would really like to get them back down to a lower degree. And advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

New aluminum rad maybe? Dual fans? Shroud?

The factory air dam is in tact and in good condition.
