SD vortec base question
98 vortec block from a suburban.......
Turned it into a 383.. my question is, on the front do i need to put in the hose going from the water pump to the intake?
I think its a bypass something rather.....

Re: SD vortec base question
I've got the same block, with a vortec based HSR intake, here's a pic of that bypass hose connected so I'd say yes.

Ok, thanks... when its all warmed up how firm are your radiator upper and lower hoses, i can squeeze them but not too much they are pretty hard.

Re: SD vortec base question
Can't say as I've checked the hoses but I have changed the temp sensor in the block and converted to Autometer Pro Comp Ultralite gauges ( so better than stock "guess the temp" ones) and the car runs no more than 200 degrees.
