AC delete with a fiberglass box + keeping heat

Howdy everyone hope you are staying safe and busy during this crazy pandemic. Anyways i am making this post to clear some more of the in-depth questions about deleting your AC and using a non AC fiberglass cover that can be found on eBay. Hawks thirdgen sells one that is deep enough for you to utilize your original AC blower motor + cage but is a little steep on the $ if you ask me. SO if you want to pay about 60 % less. Use your original AC blower motor AND use the AC only car equipped high speed relay (the 4 prong resistor that you will unscrew). You have come to the right place!

Quick thing to clear up. A non AC original blower motors plastic squirrel cage is much shorter than an AC blower motors cage. BUT even if you swap the cage to your AC motor it will still need washers or some sort of material to offset it a little because of the design of the AC motor.

Some of you may find this "hack" but the key thing you are gonna need is JB weld.

This is meant to be supplementary to the many posts of the earlier stages of removing everything from your car and attaching the pulley.

Here is a photo of what the original AC box looked like from eBay

AC delete box. (for non AC motor)

Now you are going to have to unscrew the 4 prong relay then simply cut a square on your new box and attach it. Also, cut out the bung that is for the rubber hose on the front of the motor and cut a hole for it on your new box.

For the bung i cut a bigger circle piece out of the old Box and punched a center hole then jb weld it together.

Next step would be to obviously Jb weld that now to your new box.

Ok now we are going to tackle the blower fan cage. Here is a nice photo of how much i cut off, then for that end ring i simply cut all the excess flush and reattached it with jb weld.

Now we simply screw that guy into the box and this is a shot of it from the inside. Also the finished product. ( I did give it a few coats of paint before i put on the motor.)

Hope this is helpful for some of you out there. Cheers!
