I wanted to ask the community if anyone knows where to get the foam insulation that goes inside the evaporator housing? Please see the picture below. Headers got a little too hot, too close. I’ve since clearanced the headers so they fit a lot better. No damage to housing. Thanks in advance!
It would help if you could find a way to rivet a heat shield to the outside right there; in some fashion that it would stand off a bit from the housing, and leave an air gap. I guess that would depend on how much space your exhaust leaves.
I'd want foam that had some sort of fire rating; it would SUCK if it got hot somehow and released toxic fumes into the air-handling system.
I'm trying to find the other foam that goes along the front of the evaporator. I'm replacing my evaporator and the original part has the foam stuck/glued to it. I'd prefer to find replacement foam if possible.
