What are these lines?

Can someone tell me what the lines are in the photo? I think they are part of the AC stuff maybe, I am trying to clean up my engine bay to look nicer and want to replace these rusty looking lines just need the part name first. Any help is appreciated.

Re: What are these lines?

Look like abandoned TPI fuel lines to me too.

Has this car been carb swapped?

Maybe seeing the other end of them would help?

Re: What are these lines?

no the other way around, car was originally carbed then someone swapped in a tpi 305 from an 1986 camaro long before i got my hands on it. i eventually had a tpi 350 swapped in about 10 years ago now.

Re: What are these lines?

yes those are the fuel lines, they go behind the alternator, underneath the throttle body, and connect to the fuel rail, as you've pictured.

Of all the things under the hood that could be cleaned and detailed, the fuel lines are the part you're most worried about? Maybe start with the low hanging fruit, like clean the oil off the valve covers...

Re: What are these lines?

I mean I did say that I was cleaning up the whole engine bay, so yea that's on the to-do list. I was just was curious about those lines is all. I Didn't realize their was a checklist in a specific order that I was required to follow, I guess that's my bad.

Re: What are these lines?

1st item on the Cleaning up the engine bay" is, the quarter car wash.

Finding parts to try to hack out of the car "because they're ugly" is WWWWWWAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYY down the list.

Re: What are these lines?

Those are fuel lines from a 1988 plus serp belt car. The 1985 - 1987 V belt TPIs had lines that hard pointed straight up and had shorter rubber fue lines that connected differently. The metal lines that went to the fuel rail went in front of the compressor as well......You can't find either new though....Just clean it off and remove any surface rust that you can.

I find the best way to clean is to cover anything like the alternator / exposed wires with a plastic bag, spray simple green, walk away for 15 minutes, come back ,spray more simple green, wait another 15 then use a garden hose to wash off all the grease and gunk. Then go over everything with a wet simple green soaked rag to get off the stuff that won;t come off with just a spray then spray down again...

You'd be surprised how much gunk comes off. with so little effort

Yea man Ill give that a try then. Sucks that you can't get any new replacement though, my concern is that could be so corroded that eventually they will fail or something eventually.

I know i can find replacements for the rubber, so its just the hard lines im worried about, its just that section circled in the pic, I got underneath and from that point on back to the fuel tank they are still in excellent condition.
