First Id start off by saying Rambling Garages YouTube tutorial and comprehensive parts list and overview is AMAZING.
With that said, the 1988 High Pressure side is slightly different than 1989. I DID happen to have the correct QDs for the job, and I retained the factory Schrader valve on the High side. All is good now!

Just reference for those with the same questions in the future. QD’s do come in the ACPro R-12 to R-134a retrofit fit, it just gets confusing quickly when you have a dozen different style adapters for various GM years.
