Low mile Gray 1988 IROC-Z
Hey guys, check out this car. Gray is not a color that you see a lot and this car is in really good shape. It's got a little over 13,000 miles, L98, T-Top, even the Delco Bose stereo. The guy is asking $16,000 for it.

Re: Low mile Gray 1988 IROC-Z
Should be cleaner/nicer for 13k miles. That exhaust belongs in a trailer park.
It's likely a low mileage car that was garaged, but the owner really didn't know how to actually take care of the car, so it doesn't stand out as a pristine example. Decent car, but could use some TLC.
FWIW that Woda place always seems to have not-quite-mint cars that seem to sit there for a long time.

Ha yeah I know it has some faults. It's still a nice car that would be good to show some care. I still haven't seen to many gray IROC's before.

I bought a 54,000 mile 89 Iroc 305 5 speed G92 for $8200 and it looked just as nice as the 88 on craigslist. Keep looking and i am sure you can find a better deal out there buddy.

Looks like a nice car and I love the color and package, but the exhaust is not doing it for me. Like was said it's a clean nice car, but for the price IDK. One thing I have learned is pix can make a car seem alot nicer than it is. My car is nice, but needs painted and some dings fixed, but in pix she looks damn near perfect. I would have to see this car in person to tell if it's worth even close to the asking price.

That exhaust makes me sad. Otherwise, looks like a really nice car.

I saw that on ebay too. I like that color a lot. I agree the exhaust tips don't help the looks of the car.

Re: Low mile Gray 1988 IROC-Z
Thats a good looking car too. It has low miles but the seats look a little bit sun beaten.

Re: Low mile Gray 1988 IROC-Z
Just kidding, though it seems there's a pretty large gulf in price between super low mile cars and those in the 40-75k mile range, which makes the latter cars the best bargain at this point, IMHO. I did the same as you -- paid in the low 7s for a well-maintained stock car with 66,000 miles on it versus shelling out 3-4k more for one with lower miles. It wouldn't drive any better, and may even carry more storage-related issues. I love these gray IROCs but if this guy wants to get that kind of money, he needs to lose that exhaust and make a better presentation. That exhaust system is horrendous!

I have tips on my RS that look similar to that and I like them, but they wouldn't be difficult to swap for factory look. As nice as the car is, I would say the price is double what it's worth.

puma,
I thought I was one picky ****...other than the exhaust and the Eagle GTs, I can't see ONE thing about that car that I don't like
Personally, $16k for 13k miles is not out of line IMO. If that is the same car that was on eBay about 2.5 years ago with 11k (it sure as hell looks like it), it pulled $19,100 sans fart cans. I knew based on that, when I paid $12,500 for mine with 21k I flat-out robbed it...
And while we're having love for grey IROCs, my background on my computer...

And one of the current stable (likely to stay this way for a long, long time...save for a 91-92 GTA being added
)

That color is just beautiful, I can't believe they didn't produce more gray 3rd gens. Not sure its worth 16k...that might be pushing it a little, but anyhow I wish them luck!

Anyone notice t-tops and eight vin digit being "8". Aftermarket T-tops on a stock L-98 or are they lying

The L98 and factory T-tops was available on the Camaro in 1988. 1992 (your car?), that combination was no longer available from the factory.

Hmm, never heard that about 88 camaros. I thought no thirdgen camaro was made with L-98 and t-tops. Nice car for sure, just a big chunk of change in this economic climate.

Re: Low mile Gray 1988 IROC-Z

While I always assumed I would get an 89 in order to get N10, the fact that grey was an 88-only color lessens the sting about not having N10. I know a G92 '89 has more bite, but it isn't like I floor this thing all that often. But, I'm always looking at the color

Had my first car not been a grey 89, this color may never have mattered to me. But the cool thing is, its different AND it remains contemporary today. Hard to say that about colors like Briar Brown and Maui Blue
