I purchased a 87 z28 a few months ago and have been working on it a lot since.
To cut straight to the point I got this car from some guy up in lakeland Florida, the console vin is different than the rear quarter panel inside vin so part of the car is from ohio and part is from california lol.
Its 38 year old so I guess this is more common when restoring and rebuilding.
These guys mcgvered the **** out of the relays and they looked toast they split and ground a few things and were running speaker amps into the relays and also trying to keep the fan on all the time it seems. I was suprised the car roughly ran at all. I started removing a ground off the alternator and trimming the corroded and burnt relays and labeling what was what that i could identify. I purchased two Hella Iso Mini Relays and their corresponding connectors H84709001 thinking I could crimp and run the old wires to the new ones.
I showed the car to one modern electrical guy and he doesn't want to touch the car. After looking over the stuff this past weekend my friend says the relays and a-e 6 pin relay are all running to the fan system.
I purchased a new radiator already but am considering maybe getting a fan and radiator setup with the connectors included as this my solve my problem entirely. Does this sound right?
Has anyone encountered this and or have any recommendations for reliable fan / radiator kits with wires included. would be a great help
images below of the sh*& show lol
the flat a-e 6 pin is whats going to the fan and the other cooked 2 relays were zip tied and grounded all over near the battery going to the top of that 6 pin connector.
