DFI 6 question
I've got my dfi installed and almost tuned in (finally). the guy that's setting up my base tune insists the fasttrack performance interface box I have that lets the dfi work through the factory computer is useless.
I thought the stock computer ran the a/c and cruise control...don't I still need it? This guy can repin my factory harness to use only the accel box, but I don't want to lose any functionality especially since I already have the adapter box anyway.
thanks,
Dan
p.s.- anybody else going to submit their dfi tables to my site? I've only had a couple people send them in so far. I would have thought more people would want to share info on tuning in their DFI setups.

The factory ECU does not control A/C or cruise control. It isn’t really necessary but since you already have the Fast Track interface box, stick with it. It is a very good quality unit. The good thing about the Fast Track unit is that since you are using the Factory ECU in conjunction of the DFI, you get to retain EGR. A big plus if you’re if you’re worried about smog. Also, the factory ECU does a way better job of handling torque converter lock-up than the DFI. Who ever is telling you to re-pin, don’t listen to him. Everything seems to be working fine for you, no need to do that extra work.

I could have sworn that's what I was told. We'll know soon b/c I just drove it after bring it back from the tuner and my blower motor, cruise, and lockup are MIA. I'm going to hook the stock computer back in (just need to plug it up and find room for everything under the dash) and see what happens.
I wanted to keep my EGR but the iron eagle heads didn't have any provisions for it so it's out of commission as well.

your harness can be repinned to where you can just plug in the dfi to the existing harness. this adapter I have does the same thing but via a different route. the accel box plugs into one end the stock computer goes into the other and the factory harness plugs into the box so the SES light still works.
