Custom burnt chip troubles???

I recently bought a chip that was burnt by a guy who had almost identical mods to his car. The chip increased timing across the board turned on highway mode and turned off the speed limiter. I think it also gave it a better air fuel ratio. The chip is excellent as far as a power improvement is concerned . However my car runs hotter than normal with it ( around or alittle above 220 versus about 180) and idles significantly faster (around 1500 or so RPMS). if i let it coast it will shift into second gear itself. Is this normal with a chip like this if not is there anything I can do to correct it?

Get the chip changed.

Just because a chip works great for one guy's car doesn't mean that it will work great for your setup. Also, there are a lot of "personal preferences" that one guy might think is great and the other person can't stand.

No it's not normal.
And yes,
learn how to do them yourself, it's not rocket science
