Accel Gen 7 problem, Please Help!!

I just got my Gen 7 wired in without the dual sync distributor. Upon trying to start I noticed that the fuel pump would not come on, I cycled the key and nothing. I then unhooked the ECM power reconnected it, turned the key on it the pump ran for several seconds and then went off again. I cycled the key and nothing, unhooked the power again cycled the key and it ran. I then just unhooked the power lead from the battery cycled the key and the pump ran.

What gives?

I then hard wired the pump to run all the time, tried to start and nothing not even a bump.... checked for spark and I am getting good fire, messed with the timing trying to get it in the ballpark but still nothing. I smelled the plugs and there is no fuel smell but the pump is running.

Any ideas where to go from here?

From the DFI Gen 7 manual:

1.4.7.3 Pre-check and starting the engine
Turn the ignition key to the run position. You should hear the fuel pump run cycle on, then off in 4 seconds. Turn the key off. Repeat this procedure until your fuel system is primed. This usually takes about 4 repetitions...

When you are cranking, do you get an RPM signal through CalMap? Also check the Input Diagnostics screen, CTRL-D. This displays the signals that the ECM is reading on the Crank/CAM input lines.

Your injectors may not be firing...It happened to me when I used some old injectors that have been on the shelf for over a year. I tapped on 'em good with a big wrench (note: BEAT) and they eventually started to fire...now the motor runs perfect...All 8 were seized up and needed a good tapping. I did this while the injectors were installed, so it wasn't a big deal. While cranking, check to make sure the injectors are pulsing by putting your finger on 'em. Another thing to consider is maybe your cranking fuel is set too little?
