Car won't start

Hey guys--didn't have any luck on the electronics board w/this, so hopefully I can get some help here.
Ok--I'm doing a 92 dash swap into my 86(89) T/A. Car ran awesome before dropping the dash(forgot to disconnect the battery)now the car just cranks w/o starting. Has fuel pressure.
I have a noid light and I'm not getting any light(from the test light)while I have the Hypertech chip in it--but when I put in a chip from an 86 setup I get a light. What's the deal? Bad prom?
Also-the tach doesn't seem to be moving while I'm cranking? Think it has something to do w/the same problem? any help is greatly appreciated.
BTW--car does have vats in it. and as far as I can remember I'm not getting a security light. I haven't tried to run for gets yet.

btt--back to the top
I checked for spark--had it for a few cranks--but then it dissappeared. Haven't had a chance to grab a stock coil--right now I'm using an Accel coil. If the coil is no good-this will be the 2nd one that crapped out! no more Accels for me! But this no start problem happened while I was doing my dash conversion--so I thought it might have something to do w/that. I forgot to disconnect the battery.

I had a msd blaster coil in my old 2.8 fiero. The tach wire touched the side of the blaster coil. It killed the coil and my tach. After that car would crank, but not start. Sounds like the same happened to you. Grab a cheap factory coil. Hope you get it worked out.

Not really sure if that would be the problem--but I do want to check out that coil anyway. I was no where near the coil--hood wasn't even open for the swap.
I checked again a few weeks ago and it seemed to be getting spark for a few cranks--then nothing--no codes at all and still don't think I'm getting a security light.
