ALDL work without factory ECM?

ALDL work without factory ECM?

I have a DFI with a jumpover harness. Will the ALDL connection under that dash still function if hooked up to a scanner? What will be available if so?

None of the aftermarkets I know of use the ALDL the same way GM does.
