im dumb...

i dont know much about computer controlled cars and i need to know. where would i find out about ECMs and Vats and proms and stuff like that. i have no idea what these do or where they are. is there a good site to learn about this stuff? thanks...the idiot.

Not an idiot, just currently under-informed. Need to just read stuff (real technical term). See the sticky at the top of the DIY EPROM board about starting out. Then read through some posts. Look for the 'tunetips' doc and read that.

It'll take a while to get used to the terminology and such. Can also go to the www.diy-efi.org site and just read through the archives. It will be greek for a while but the more you read and the more time you spend on it, the easier it becomes.

It will be slow at first, then suddenly it will start to come to you. Just don't give up to soon, it will start to make sense.
