Axle/Gears: 373's in T/A .. vette unknown
whats this ecm ??

another thing about this ecm I should have said is I bought it as part of a painless type wiring harness, but its for a speed density tpi system, I find this higher number like 1619 and 1618 used in 93up vehicles but have never seen this number listed for any GM vehicles

guess this is the explanation
You may have noticed a block of seven ECM numbers: 16198259 through
16198267. (Does anyone know if there's a 16198261 and a 16198265?) It
looks to me like sometime around 1994 GM decided to get rid of the few
remaining 122xxxx style service numbers. The ECMs still in production
with these old style numbers got brand new 8 digit part numbers. After
that point, any ECMs returned for repair got sent out with the new
numbers. Or, perhaps the 161982xx numbers simply mean that they have
been tested to newer standards.

Er I just picked up this ECM here and it doesnt have a 165 or 730 or 749 or anything anywhere but i was told its a 165. How the heck can i tell? (without hooking the thing up heh)
