What the hell? is my car possesed!!!

I am putting a new 355 in my 85 iroc. the ses light never came on in the 2 years i've owned the car, not even with the key just in the on position. GM pulled about 15 codes from under the hood somewhere. but the only way i can even get the check engine light on is with a test light!! how has my car been running the last 2 years without the computer being hot. the only wire through the ecm that is hot is the one for the MAF any help would be greatly appreciated. BTW, IT is a factory TPI car

WinALDL should work with your car.

my aldl port isnt getting juice to the terminals!!
I cannot find any 'rigged up' or spliced wiring, except for a hot ign wire directly from an extra hole at the fuse box. the wire runs straight to one of the orange wires on the ecm harness, but doesnt really efffect anything. I called GM to get a GM manual, but they cant go back further than 89. I need a correct wiring digram so I can test my wiring. I have the haynes and chiltons, but theyre BS when it comes to this stuff! my tpi swappers guide says its a bad ecm, but i put in a nother ecm, still no juice to the check engine light!!

I found that my check engine light wasnt on because of a bad ground. with that fixed. now the check engine light is on with the key on. but the aldl is still not flashing even a code 12. or even showing a signal to the test light. the 2 terminals on the left side have power with ignition, top left and bottom left one shows 12v and the other shows 5v on a volt meter. any help would be greatly appreciated!!!
