ECM fuse problem HELP!!!

hey guys i posted this in electronics and i got little help hopefully you guys can relate to this and help me out I was driving home on my lunch break to get some food and while getting on the freeway the car stopped getting fuel and died then wouldn't start again. I got it to my favorite autoshop on a hook and we found it blew a ECM fuse. We tried to figure out why by looking at wires and all looked good. We plugged in a new fuse and the thing was ready to rock and roll again. Then i drove home and it blew the fuse again when i reved it past 3000 so i put in another fuse and nursed it back home. So do you guys have any ideas why it is drawing over 10 amps? I'm fairly sure it is a short somewhere. Do you guys have any idea where, is this a common problem? thanks a lot for any help.

Maybe the wiring harness near the engine is rubbed through, try wiggling wires. I found a sheet metal screw that was going through a bracket at the rear of the engine by the firewall sticking into the large engine harness on an 88 TPI , wasn't shorting all the time.

Same thing happened to me... my harness was rubbing and unknown to me it was making contact with a sharp object, it drove me NUTZ!!! It would blow the ECM fuse, I would replace it and it would idle all day but as soon as I started driving and the rpms went past 3000 it would blow the fuse again!!!
Check out the harness and run your hand under it to make sure it's not against a sharp or hot motor part.
Good luck!

those electrical problems can drive you crazy. Especially when you cant fix them. With any luck i'll be out of the sling in a week and ready to rock and roll. They said in motorcycle safety school that no one sees you when you're on a bike and getting in an accident is not a matter of "if" it's a matter of when. And it had to be the shifting hand too, go figure. Hopefully the beast will be running again soon.
