The previous owner put a junkyard tbi system in my car and ripped all the labling off the ecm. No identifying marks whatsoever. How can i tell which one i have w/o the labels?

There should be a 4 letter code on it, perhaps posting that code would allow someone to reverse look up that code number and tell ya.

the ecm doesnt have the usual DIP carrier for the chip but rather a socket that mates to a plastic housing that the chip is bonded to. Doesnt look like the memcals from the tpi ones but rather a housing with end grips that plugs into the connector. Looks like if i want to do anythign with it id have to solder in a ZIFF to hold the prom. From what i can make out, there is the code 0667 printed on a foil label on the calibration chip and the connector has the logo RN molded into it. There is also another smaller 16 pin chip next to it in the same style of connector, i assume that this is the rom that contains the first third or so of the ecms coding thats not on the larger prom. What is this thing? An OE replacement ECM?

oh, and it looks like these connectors where put in sometime after the ecm was origionally assembled as a sticker and the coating on the board are all melted away in a ring around the connectors.

Heres a pic of it. Not that it will help anyway since all the tbi ecms probabyl looked alike through the years but what the hell. Is there any way to ID it so i can get the right definition file when it comes to tuning time?

See the silver chip in the left center of the pic. . . post the numbers on that chip along with the numbers on the chip below it (they are both the 40 pin or so size chips).
FYI, the socketing for the two chips you removed are stock GM.

the number one of the chips, the silver one, is 23263 or possibly a 1 in the last entry. The printing isnt real clear. I couldnt make out what the numbers where on the black chip at the time but ill take it back apart and see if i can try to make them out.
