Holley Stealth ram.too tall???????????

Right guys,
The holley stealth ram complete set up has now been decided on to top my new ZZ4 in my 85 transam but then...Ive read it may not fit under the stock bonnet.
Help me out guys,does it fit or not??

Yes and no! If you have a stock "rs" type hood it will fit. Do a search for "stealth ram and hood" That should help you out.

I would be interested in seeing an "rs" hood on a trans am. . .

I have my HSR installed under a base model firebird hood (on a trans am . . . if it matters). It is, at best, VERY close. My hood has some of the bracing trimmed back to clear the front lip of the square part of the throttle body.

I use the screw-type hose clamps to hold a rubber connector to the TB. If i leave the screw part on top, it WILL contact the outer hood skin. I've been using modeling clay to determine clearances and right now i estimate 1/4" at the closest point of contact.

Hope that helps and puts everything in perspective.

Before you go and bust out the heavy duty cutter try tin snips. They work awesome and will not damage your hood if you slip, I think that JM matlock pic should be banned got all sorts of crazy ideas in my head and probobly other ppls too. That metal is like butter, there is no need for that hardcore of a tool.
