where is the chip that goes to the ecm?

where is the chip that goes to the ecm?

I have a hypertechchiup that is in there now iut runs like crap. how doI put the stock chip in? wjerer is it? the pass side? I see what I think is a computer. but nowhere to take out and plug in a new chip thnmks

Transmission: bolted to the engine
On the passanger side...... take out lower panel above the floor. Pull out the ECM ....look for a rectangular metal plate on top of the ECM w/ 2 screws in it.. Chip is in there. Just pull the two tabs out on each side of the chip and pull it out.

One more ? my car is runnning lean. it has the hypertech chip in it 355 trick flpow heads wicked comp cam tpi duh. its a 88 IROC Z. WILL THE STOCK CHIP BE BETTER FOR IT? THNKS kEV

You're best bet is either burn a custom chip for your application or get someone to burn one for you. You probably don't want to hear that, but it's really the best way to go IMO.

well yeah that I do know Im trying to find someone in northern NJ rto do it 4 me but yes Iknow that is great advice. so thnk u. I just want it to run a lot less lean right now. thnks dude

A lean condition may or may not be corrected with a stock chip. It would come down to why it is lean. If the MAF is gutted/descreened than the MAF scalar tables are off (in the chip). If this is the case a slight bump in fuel pressure may bandaid it enough to make it more driveable.

If it is lean because of the hypertech chip being incorrect then yes a stock chip will fix it. Can also be a fuel pressure/delivery problem.

OK THNKS I have a mech friend looking at it now and is going to call me back soon he hooked it up to the comp diagnostic machine thingy lol and we will see if the computer is fried it just started running like **** thnwks keep u posted Kev
