V6 harness to V8 ECM

is it possible to add the wiring for two injectors, and then cut and splice the wiring at the ECM connectors. Then install a V8 ECM and be done?

Converting a V6 harness to a V8 harness is do-able. The cut & splice at the ECM is not recommended. If wires need changing it is common practice to pop the pin from the connector and re-insert it into the proper connector location. Going from the V6 ECM ('7302??) to a '165 or '730 isn't difficult. This is on your '89?

Best is to decide which ECM you are going to and then get wiring diagrams for both. then you'll be able to tell which wires require moving.

Thanks Rbob. Yes, its just brainstorming for my 89.

What about the connectors to the TPS and other sensors, are they the same?

As far as the connectors being the same, I don't know. It can also depend upon which years you are swapping between. This is sorta' one of those things that you need to research/jump-into to find out what is required.
