Will I have any problems 305tpi to 96lt1 swap

I am putting a 96 LT1 into my 89TA
I have a computer, but all i have is the VIN from the car it came out of and that it may have been an automatic.. I am going to use my T5 and eventually a T56 .. Not sure if this computer has VATS or not..
Where do i go from here? Will this thing work or perhaps should I get a Computer from a T56 car to make things easier.. ??

Thanks

The 96 MY PCM is OBDII, your not going to get to do much to it without spending a bunch of money.
Retrofitting a 95 PCM gets you into the world of reasonable reflashing of the pcm, yourself.

i guess next question, will an older computer (say 1994) work? I don't know if i can get a 94 computer but i can get a hypertech programmer for $100cdn for it..

If I'm not mistaken in 94 there are actually 2 PCMs, if you get a 8051 then your fine. Put the $100 toward getting the cables and an editor from Tunercat.com.

$100 is a good deal, only if it's actually cost effective.

If it's the 8051.
There is a little repinning as I recall, ie the OBDII uses 4 O2 instead of 2, that sort of thing.
