Curious about Stage 2

I was just curious as to what kind of power gains I might expect with a JetChip Stage 2. The setup it will be going on is a stock 305 with an open air element, and a deleted cat with either 2.5 or 3" intermediate pipe. A Flowmaster, or something of the sort will be on too. No headers for now though.

Also, what size pipe would you guys recommend for this chip?

Stage 2... still cracks me up.

I wouldnt expect any gains. If you get some, great. Burning your own for your particular car is the best way to get more out of your tune.

Sounds so high-performane doesn't it? It's amazing that they're still selling this thing at all!

Kleen, how much are you planning to pay for this chip? I would bet that for not much more money you could get setup for burning your own chips. You'll get so much better results too once you put in the time and effort to learn what to do. It's not that difficult and there are plenty of people here who are willing to help out.

In fact, the modifications you're proposing don't even need a chip change at all. The factory chip will handle it just fine.

oh, well then, alright? I was looking in Year One and they were asking $159 or so.

So this is not worth it huh?

As of this time, the car is going to stay basically stock, internally. Maybe I will take the money I was gonna spend on that and put some nice roller rockers on, or maybe do an ignition or new distributor.

Now you're talking. Don't be the next victim of the super chip scam!!

Yeah, some 1.6 roller rockers would be good. TPI cars can handle mild modfications with stock chip. You may not get the most out of it until you burn a chip to take advantage of it, but it's not going to run worse.
