Can I test my Accel system using a stock ECM?

Can I test my Accel system using a stock ECM?

My fuel pump won't turn on and I am tired of checking wiring, can I just plug in a 89 MAF ecm into the harness to see if the fuel pump will prime without totaly screwing up the system? Car was TBI converted to accel gen 6.

Thanks

I would not attempt it. I would be surprised if the harnesses were the same. Did the fuel pump ever work with the Accel system?

Should be able to troubleshoot it in a different manner.

RBob.

Plugs right in, now I just need to find the custom relay that I took out to try and find more info on, I know it is around here somewhere......

Never mind, finally found the fuel pump fuse and it was toast, there was another fuse out in the open near the dist block and I thought that was it but after tracking the wires I found the right one. Now to figure out why I am getting no spark.

Good news at that. I am not familiar with this Accel system you are running. It sounds like it is a replacement for the factory ECM, and uses the factory harness. Am I understanding correctly?

TIA, RBob.

Yes is looks to be a direct replacement for the GM ECM since it plugs right in. As with most custom installations if you don't do it yourself you sometimes have a hard time figuring out how it was installed. Not sure what else needed to be done to allow use of MP instead of TBI. I'll have to go back and check if I might have dislodged a wire or something since I am now getting no spark.
