TunerPRO Datalog and Emulating problem

First off, thanks for taking the time to look at my thread and provide any guidance/feedback.

I just got my Romulator today and I am getting it to work with TunerproRT just fine. Meaning I can get it to Emulate with the Romulator.

The question I have is that when I'm emulating I cannot get the TunerProRT to datalog at the same time. I only have one male end serial port on my laptop for use with the Romulator.

When I disable the Emulation on TunerProRT I cannot get it to connect to the ECM for datalogging.

Isn't TunerproRT designed to allow you to datalog and emulate at the same time so that you can see what the changes are when you make a change to the .bin and send it to the romulator?

I can get the datalog feature to work with my AKM cable but I have to disconnect the Romulator to connect it since I only have one male end serial port.

Am I going to have to hook up 2 laptops just so I can see the changes I make while emulating?

Or am I seriously missing something?

Thanks,

Brian P

Don't feel bad, I can't get TunerproRT to connect to my car at all.

TunerPRO has to have a cable connection to the ALDL to datalog....that's where it gets it's data. Add another serial port to your laptop.

I think that there needs to be an ALDL stream definition file. They have the filename extension of .ads

Check on TunerPros download section. Should be some there. If not post back.

When I DL'd TunerPRO it had a few datastream def's included. Just go to the datalog menu (hit F4) and click the {...} button to the right of where it says "definiton file." Select which ECM you have and hit {connect to ECM} at the bottom. Then click on the red dot (record button) to start a log or click the {sensor data} tab at the top to see what the current sensor readings are. At least I'm pretty sure that's how it works....I've never logged with TunerPRO (or anything else for that matter) so don't take my word as gospel. I just got that from looking at it on my desktop.
