I traced my drivability issues to a faulty ECM, swapped it with another car and it runs fine now. However, I am left with two MAF thirdgens, and one good ECM. Where can I find a 165 ECM? I'm not about to spend $100 or more at a parts store or the dealership, and there are no TPI V8's in the junkyards around here, and further, if there were the yards wouldn't sell the ECM without the rest of the drivetrain.

So far all I've been able to find is a note that some TBI 4cyl S10's might use the same ECM. Are there any other vehicles that I could rob an ECM from?

I just bought an extra one (for backup) off of ebay for $30. I'm sure some may go cheaper I just don't have the time to sit and watch auctions all the time.

 

Thanks for the replies... I got an ecm out of a 2.5L S10 and it seems to be working. The throttle response doesn't seem quite as good as it was with my other 165 ECM, but its better than witht he original ECM. I don't know why three different ECM's would cause minor differences in throttle response, since I'm using the same PROM regardless of ECM.
