Easy way to find VATS resistance value?

Can anyone help me find the VATS resistance value in my '727 ECM (what it's looking for)? I just got my memcal in the mail today and I have it spitting the 46 code, but now I'd like to bypass the VATS so I can get that out of the way without burning a new chip for it just yet (no equipment).

According to the diagrams, B6 is the VATS signal, which runs to the CCM. Can I measure the resistance between this wire and a ground?

Any help appreciated!
-Ben

No, because the resistance is coded into the VATS control module and when it senses the correct resistance in the key pellet it will send a signal to the ECM. Do you have the pellet in the key and if it is a 87 car. Did you get the key, lock cylinder and VATS control module from the same donor car?

No, I only got the ECM off of ebay, with the intent of just removing VATS from the code, or bypassing it, whichever was easiest. I hadn't looked too much into bypassing it until today. I see I can spend 50 bucks for the VATS module from Painless, but for that I think I may just wait till I get my burning equipment to remove it from the chip.

I suppose if I wanted to do it totally right I could spend a day at the yard and get the cylinder/key/module from one of the cars. Should be pretty simple to wire in, by the looks of it, althought I dont have a diagram for the actual Control Module wiring.

If you can start it and run it, I wouldn't worry about it. If you are going to go to the junkyard to get the module, key & lock cylinder, don't forget the starter enable relay. I have the schematic for several of the cars with VATS.

I appreciate your help, Trickster! If I decide to go that route I'll drop you a PM, if you don't mind sending the diagram(s).

Thanks!
