Apyn 3496?

Can anyone tell me what this BCC code is?
I am trying to find out if this memcal will work for my application. The ecm is a 165 and it is going in an 85 that I have put an 87 harness in. Wondering if this chip I have is for an 89 or has VATS on it? I can't get an inj. pulse and tried every thing except ecm and prom.

Hello Dude,
I responded in your other thread about the injectors wont fire. That chip is the reason why they won't fire. It is not out of a 87 305 TPI car as it was indicated. It is actually out of a 1989 camaro with a 2.77 rear-end, automatic transmission, 5.7L TPI engine and worst of all it is programmed for VATS. This info has been verified through one of my sources at the local dealerships parts department. You need a different chip in the computer, preferrably one for a 1987 car.

Thanks for verifying that for me Trickster, late last night after I posted I found on the ACDelco site the exact info you just gave me but I wasn't really for sure until now. Any suggestions on where to get a new one and how much? Or should I just go back to my parts guy and try again, this time checking the bcc code first. Since it doesn't cost me any cash since I just trade out coating with him. But with all the trouble I've had with these parts I might be better off with a new part. I think I'll go with new, no more
Thanks again,

Doug
