90 IROC 350 Auto into 305 Man car
I have a 90 IROC donor. 350 with auto. But is has a MAF (not map) so it was swapped out at some point from MAP to MAF. It has the MAP hole in the plenum. no 9th injector. They only swapped the MAF in and wiring harness.
The ECM has APYN 3496 so they changed the ECM also. ECM number 1227165. APYN 3496 3481 Auto 2.77 gears Fed F
got the book Chevy TPI FI Swappers GUide but I didn't see everything I need.
The 1990 IROC 350 Auto had 3.23 gears not 2.77. Is this an issue?
I want to swap into a car with the 5 speed manual. How do I get around the VSS or does the manual have the VSS?
What about the lockup torque converter?
Will the 305 flywheel work on the 350? Don't remember which were internal and external balanced.
I have the key and lock for the VATS.
Thanks for the help. New to FI.

If you're going manual tranny, why does it matter?
Neither were. In 1986, they switched from 2-piece rear main seal to 1-piece rear main seal. Ignore that weight on the 1-piece rear main seal flex plate - that doesn't make it external balance. Technically, all SBC cranks were at least half-way external balance, since there was a counterweight outside of the rear main seal '85 & earlier, and a counterweight on the flexplate/flywheel on '86 & later.
The 400 SBC was the only one that fully had external balancing, as both the damper and flywheel/flexplate had additional weights on them.
If both of your engines are '86-later, the flywheel will fit on either one.

The computer doesn't care if the TCC locks or not. It just tells it to and doesn't do anything else about it.
Manual transmission cars tend to like higher gear ratios such as 3.42 or 3.73. 3.23 is probably tolerable, but 3.08 and certainly 2.73 is really stretching it. Again, the computer doesn't care, you just need to have the proper speedo gear(s) in so the indicated speed is accurate.
