just got my autoprom, kind of long
hello everyone, just recieved my autoprom and only figured out how to data log so far. I had trouble connecting to the ed wright chip.[383 superam, trickflow g1, 24lb inj, comp roller, lingenfelter headers, 14 lb flywheel, etc] So i put the stock chip in and connected.... last week with the ed chip and autoxray I was seeing desired idle of 3187rpm. [I have a problem with long cranking and an out of control revving on start-up.] Today with autoprom and stock chip same desired idle rpm shows up. I wonder if desired rpm is supposed to be like that and the light flywheel causing rpm flare, I don't remember if I told ed that I had light flywheel. Then I got the autoprom to log with the ed chip installed, so vernw, if you're seeing this, the base pulse width while cranking seemed to start from zero, climb to 2.45ms then one second after start, starts to lower and the desired idle is 950. One last thing when the 02 sensor goes closed loop it does'nt jump back in forth in mv. i noticed it started climbing from about 450mv, after I started engine to 750mv andstays thier. Well, More info, more questions.

Once you get to closed loop, that O2 sensor voltage ought to be oscillating like crazy back and forth over the .450v "stoich" value. Is it getting to closed loop and still staying at .750?
Is the startup 3000RPM flare still happening? And how long cranking does it take to start? Mine is never over a couple of seconds, even after sitting overnight. (I assume that's why you mentioned me in that area....)

hello vernw, your description of an o2 sensor is correct, mine does'nt oscillate, just steadily climbs in mv's, up to 750. In autoprom I can see where it changes from open to closed loop. Something I'll have to look into.
Still have the starting problem. You had asked me to record the cranking pw"s. I did'nt see a seperate location for that, so I was looking at base pulse widths while cranking. started from a low number then climbed to 2.45ms at liteoff. then steadily dropped down. below 2ms within a minute.
Still trying to figure out the new tool. Did call ed wright back and actually talked to him, he says he has gotten superammed strokers to start like oem vehicle. He says he increases cranking pw's. I gonna copy the chip and send it back.

Something seems odd here with the readings you have.
Are you sure the logging program has the correct ADS (format) and you are reading the correct places?
A requested idle of over 3K rpm is strange to me. The other item that you said the o2 doesn't move when in CL. The ECM should not allow it to go to into CL. o2 may just be bad.
There is no info on what you are running so I'm just trowing this out there for you to consider.
