Ecm And Boost

I have been looking and trying to figure out what I want to do and I am still lost. I am working on a Twin Turbo setup for an 88 350 TPI. I want to run 38lb injectors and keep the mass air setup. I have read about some problems with boost and the MAF sensor. Is SD the way to go with GEN 7 or can I keep the stock ECU and get a custom chip? I'd like to be able to tune the system. I need a way for timing retard. I know that MSD make a unit. Will this unit work with the factory ECU and control the timming properly. Will the Gen 7 control the stock HEI?....Soo many questions. I'll leave it at that for now. I just dont want to waste time and money on combos that arent gonna work.
THANKS

The '165 will work on a boosted setup. However, swapping to a '749 or '730 and running the $58 mask is better. The $58 mask is the GM software used in the turbo Sy/Ty's among others. This is a SD setup and uses a 2 bar MAP. A 2 bar MAP will read to 15 psi of boost.

Timing retard is built in with wastegate control too.
