MAF to SD almost complete..quick questions

I bought a '730 ECM from a salvage yard a while back for $50, and as of now it is all wired up from where it was on my 85 MAF ECM. So that part is over, I just have a couple more questions.

ˇI need to go to a parts store and get a MAP, along with the pigtail for it, and hook those (3?) wires from the ECM connector to it, and connect the vacuum line to one that goes to the plenum. Straightforward just like that, right? Exactly where would be the best place to route the wires to get them through the firewall? Sounds like a stupid question but I don't know where to put em through at. I read in a search that I could use a couple unused wires from the 85 harness instead of going through all that trouble?

ˇKnock sensor. Is it easier to get a new one or put a resistor in the circuit? If I buy a new one, then I'm a bit foggy on what I need to do. From what I read I need to unplug the ESC connector, and jumper two of the terminals together, then just leave it like that, unplugged and all? Is it just like that or am I missing something there?

Sorry for the stupid questions, just want to make sure it gets done right.

I believe that the former MAF sensor wires can be used for the new MAP sensor. Then no new wires need to be added.

Knock sensor: I've known folks to do either approach. 1) use a SD knock sensor. 2) use the MAF knock sensor with a 3.9K in parallel to it. I'd try #2 and go with it. If it showed to be a problem then change the sensor to a SD unit. For the most part only the impedance is different.

Knock filter: on the MAF setup it is a separate module, attached to the firewall about the brake booster. On a SD setup it is on the MEMCALwhich is in the ECM. So yes, remove the original knock module and jumper the two pins. This will feed the knock sensor signal straight through to the knock module on the ECMs MEMCAL.

RBob.

And nobody calls me and asks.. I've got a spare MAP laying around. I'll PM you my cell number.

Haha...well..er..I didn't want to bother you? Yeah I got the PM. Sent one back.

And thank you for the help RBob. The process is a lot clearer to me now.
