I know this ECM is for an 88 TBI, but I'm wondering if this ECM can be used to run an 89 TPI system with a PROM change. Can it?

Yes, it can be used. However, it is not the best ECM to use for a port system. The injector firing scheme is setup for a TBI system. An '89 TPI will be MAF, the '8063 is SD, so the MAF goes and a MAP sensor needs to be used.

The correct ECM for that application is a '7165. Can go SD with a '7727 or a '7730. All of these are setup for port injection.

Thanks for that, I will get hold of a 7165 ECM from somewhere.

Meanwhile, if anyone wants to buy a 8063 ECM, just PM me.
