Is this going to work or am i going to make a fire?
Well im going to try and ghetto up a ALDL cable to hook up to my sisters car (93 geo) It keeps getting all sorts of codes now 
Im going to try the first scematic on this pic, any clue if it will work for me? i have a craptacular old laptop so its only got serial ports.
And hopefully i did my calculations right for these 10k ohm resistors. i came up with brown/black/orange/gold being the color bands for a 10k ohm resistor, correct me if im wrong please.
Ill also be using a 2n3904 transistor.
Will i cook the computer if the resistors are wrong or if i use an incorrect wiring setup for the computer?
