stock ecm ?s

i am swapping my 88 2.8 camaro to a tpi small block. i am not quite sure what i can do to the motor abd keep the stock ecm though. i would like to build a 383 stroker around 450hp backed by a 700R4 for a daily driver. i saw some other threads talking about FAST ecms, i have one on my 90 454SS since i built a multi-port 496 stroker for it, i got it relatively cheap (less than $1000) do any ever get sold on this site for, say, under $1250? i would just like to know the limitations of the stock ecm. any help would be greatl appreciated. thanks in advance.

I dont think theres anyway to keep your current ECM. You might think about going to a 730 used in 90 to 92 thirdgens. Here in SE Pa. we can get them for $10ea. no warrenty and $15ea. with. Think about that the next time your aftermarket unit needs replacing. A stock ecm can do everything the aftermarket can do and probably more.Check out the DIY PROM board here at TGO for more info.

Eer no. I thought we were discussing ecms here. 730 is the last three digits of the factory part number. If your building a 383 your going to need a new prom chip though.
