Diacom problems...help!

Diacom problems...help!
HI all
I am having problems getting my Diacom to link.... all i get is " no comm cable present.. I have wiggled taped and done everthing i can think of to that cable to get it to work but still no go...
tho it does turn on the engine fans when i turn on the ignition
I have had this going before so i do not know what the problem is any ideas??

Which cable are you using.
In the original Diacom kit they have a "special " cable for TPI setups.Ask me how I know.

re cable...
I know about the special cable....the one for the MAF cars... But i am using the 82 and up cable ( adapter ) the one for the SD cars......I tried about 10 times to get it to link...then finally it linked and i got the data capture that i wanted

'82 and up.
Being too fast and not reading instructions ,that was the cable I used for my '87.
No link.
Then when I read properly found I had to use the other supplied cable
"GM Special TPI" # 91006.
Linked up first try.
