Is anybody running a 4l60E behind a TPI engine? If so what are you using for the ECM and which code are you running? I curently have a speed density TPI with a 350 tranny. I can get a great deal on a 4l60e wich would be great for the over drive becasue of the 5.13 gears i have in the rear. Is how would i run this tranny with my tpi

 

Take a look at the mid-90's TBI/CPI truck PCMs. They can both control a 4L60-E and run TPI, with some minor mods.

 

what needs to be done to these computers to run TPI, im going to have acess to a wiring harness and computer from a CPI truck

 

after doing a lot of reading the idea of $8D running the tranny sounds good, has any body gotten this to work yet?

 

I did it for a while, but I messed up on the wiring and it wouldn't shift out of second, regardless of the column shifter, aside from reverse, park and neutral. I ended up getting the TCI controller for it, made adjusting shift points and line pressure way easier.
