ECM's suck. I had to drive my car home at 250* because the sensor that turns my fan on broke... I cant wait to go all carb and have my friggin fans on a manual switch...

Ouch!

Man, you shouldn't have had to do that. Next time turn on the AC and your fan should come on. Also, I don't think the ECM comes into play in the fan circuit. I got sick of troubleshooting that junk too, so I wired mine this way:

Something to consider doing when you go carbed, or before. The "Temp Sw" box is this thing: Flex-a-lite Adjustable Electric Fan Controllers: FLX-31147 - summitracing.com

The whole rig is a total of about $35 worth of electrical stuff, and I never have to worry about it. I can set the circuit to turn on at whatever temp I want, then leave it alone...

Good luck with it, I hope you never have to deal with that problem again.

Can't blame the ECM, your '88 TBI L03 fan is not controlled by the ECM.

Same would have happened with a carb. The temperature switch in the head goes right to the fan relay. All you had to do was to ground that wire. Then the fan would have run and you wouldn't be cussn' out the innocent ECM.
