There's really no good reason to run one, we have full control of our ecm's so using a piggy back to trick the ECM to giving you what you want is just a bad idea.
The prom burning equipment cost about 1/3 of what one of the piggy back units costs. If this is for a non GM car with no aftermarket support then thats all you got.

so all of the prom burning equipment is about $80, I always thought that is was more expensive that is why I was going to use this ~$230 peice since I have one in my other car to try it out then just buy another if it worked well, where can I find the prom burning equipment at or around these prices eveything I had seen was from $300-500? for the price I would like to try both and see how they do.....
