ECM #1226025

Was wondering what this ECM was for 1226025 the big letters at the top of the box say CCB above the 1226025 it says 16033121? This came out of an 83 Trans Am. Just wondering if this was for a LG-4 or a L-69.

If this is an L-69 ECM will it work in an LG-4 car or did the L-69 have different electronic components like the knock sensor and electric fan stuff. This is strictly 1983 only.

I think it's for an electronic carb vehicle.

6025s were used in early 1980s (83+) V6 G-body, A-body, X-body, S10s & B-body & F-Bodies with the LG4.

6025

Is the L-69 ECM the same ECM as the LG-4 except for the removable PROM?

For 1983 yes, the L69 used the '6025. In 84, the L69 used a '6455, 85 the '6865, and 86 the '7169.

Basically, it looks like every year was a different ECM for the L69.

Can I use this in my LG-4

Can I put this ECM in my 83 LG-4. Will the ECM throw out a wierd code since I don't have an electric fan. Did the 83 L-69 have a knock sensor. I have understood in the past that the LG-4 did not have one that year.

That vintage of ECM was one of the earliest ECMs put in GM cars...they really didn't do very much. Timing was probably their biggest function then.

None of the ECM & calibrations used in 3rd Gen F-bodies throw a code due to non-functioning electric fans that I have seen. That includes the more sophisticated later years.

However, I cannot answer the question whether there is a knock sensor on the L69. If there is, go to the Electronics Board and ask how to disable it.
