engine swap chip help

Ive completed my 350 swap, but the first time I started the car with the tpiparts.net adapter it throws a code 41. I looked up the error code, and it says - CYLINDER SELECT ERROR (FAULTY OR INCORRECT MEM-CAL). Its says the incorrect memcal has been installed or it is faulty and must be replaced. Without the adapter the car does not throw a code, but the fan temp settings are incorrect, and sounds funky.

The car was previously a 87 305 tpi , and replaced with a 350 with tpi intake setup. The adapter was this one from tpiparts.net http://tpiparts.net/inc/sdetail/1495.
I had it setup for 350 settings. My stock ecm is the 165 and im using the stock chip. Am I doing something wrong.

P.S. When I was replacing the chip the locking tabs broke off, but the chip still sits securely.

btw - couldnt find any info. on this site for code 41.
