Code 53= faulty ECM?

I am getting an intermittent code 53, 43, and 45. As soon as the SES light comes on the car surges chuggs and bucks back and forth then dies. I have to keep the pedal half way to the floor just to keep it running.
I have replaced the alternator and knock sensor along with countless other things hoping to fix this.
I think I have a fauly ECM or prom PLEASE HELP!

Re: Code 53= faulty ECM?

When you first turn the key to the run position does the SES light blink? If not, bad ECM. If the PROM is bad, a code 51 should show up...It did in my 84 Berlinetta.

The loss of power does seem like as symptom of a bad ECM, when my Trans Am's ECM went bad, the light would come on and I'd lose power, and nearly stall, but no trouble codes were stored.

check for a bad connection to the ECM, that could cause intermittent problems.
