Im geting a code 34 out of my 89 tbi 305.

Any sugestion on what to start doing or looking for.

That is a MAP sensor low error. Check the wiring along with the vacuum line to the MAP sensor. It could also be the sensor itself is bad or the ECM.

in the haynes manual it says that the MAP is used on all models except 89 and earlyer

In this case the haynes manual is wrong (why am I not surprised). All factory stock f-body TBI setups are MAP.
