1227747 Severe issues? or common flaw?

i have a l05 motor 5.7L
i have 2 1227747 ecms avb currently

a.1st unit runs fine but randomly surges to 1000Rpm and sticks when it desires but has no codes stored or will NOT illumiate SES

b. second unit runs like **** if you disconect battery and ecm loses memory
but after shut down 2nd start it will run perfect no surging or any issues but has stored codes SES is NOT illumiated but stores code 22 & 34 why would the mysterious codes be stored but no SES? i reset the battery and it runs horrid then its perky and normal im guessing it needs to re-learn?

i know a custom programmer specialized in old gen OBDI systems should i take the 2nd unit and get it tweeked out and suped up?

or go find another 1227747 and hope it doesnt play games as well.. i thought all ecm with same serial numbers are same? i mean they were both out of a chevy van 5.7L with TBI units

i do know i had a lose wire in the ecm connector that issue was corrected could that of been the cause for the 2nd ecm to spaz out?
