Need to get smart on getting computer info from my car

I have always wanted to learn more about my car's computer and how I could pull info from it but until now I never had a laptop that I could use to monitor it.

I understand that Winald can be downloaded and a cable is needed but I know nadda when it comes to getting set up to do this. Can anyone set me up for success and point me in the right direction.

I have the stock TBI computer on my 90 RS camaro and I want to see how I could improve my performance now that I have a 350 in it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I did and since then I did download the newest version of winaldl and I have looked into the cables on ebay. I haven't found any on ebay yet that will fit my car and making one is probably out of the question for me. Making my own prom in the future sounds good though. As soon as I can get the extreme basics down of getting the info from the car, I will look into making my own chips. I just need to get my hands on a cable first.

I have seen plenty of ALDL cables on ebay but you should just buy a ALDU1+CABL1 Combo from Moates.net.
